California Assembly Bill 32 requires California to reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. A key element of California’s plan to achieve this goal is a cap-and-trade program that sets a statewide limit on the major sources of GHG emissions in California. Entities covered under the cap-and-trade program are permitted to use carbon offset credits to meet up to 8 percent of their compliance obligation. The California Air Resources Board oversees these markets, and requires that all offset credits be independently verified by accredited verification bodies. S&A Carbon is accredited by the California Air Resources Board to conduct offset project verifications. Our accreditation number is H2-15-019. Our team is accredited to conduct verifications for the following project types:
– Mine Methane Capture (MMC)
– Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)
